Polyurethane / 04

Polyurethane additives.

Amine catalysts, stannous octoate, silicone surfactants, blowing agents, flame retardants and colorants — the control system that tunes every polyurethane formulation.

If polyols and isocyanates are the structure of polyurethane, additives are the control system. They decide how fast the reaction runs, how the foam cells form, how the material resists fire, and how it looks. Creston Chem supplies the full additive package so you can fine-tune a formulation from one source.

Catalysts

Reaction control

Amine Catalysts

Balance the blow and gel reactions to control rise, stability and surface quality across slabstock, rigid panels and moulded parts.

Gelation

Stannous Octoate (Tin)

A metal catalyst that accelerates urethane formation and improves processing control in flexible foam, working alongside amine catalysts.

Silicone surfactants

Rigid foam

For rigid systems

Promote a fine, closed-cell structure for better insulation and dimensional stability.

HR & viscoelastic

For HR & memory foam

Provide flowability, comfort and uniform cell structure in high-resilience and viscoelastic foam.

Blowing agents

Physical and chemical blowing agents expand the foam to its target density, supporting uniform cell structure, low thermal conductivity and reduced material cost. Used across refrigeration insulation, spray foam and moulded foam.

Flame retardants

Bring foam into compliance with fire-safety standards for furniture, construction and automotive applications, without compromising the core foam properties.

Chain extenders & crosslinkers

Modify hardness, crosslink density and mechanical strength — important in elastomers, integral-skin foam and high-performance systems.

Colorants & pigment pastes

UV-resistant, non-bleeding and heat-stable colorants in liquid and paste form, for footwear, automotive interiors and specialty foam.

Build the full formulation

These additives complete the system alongside polyols and your chosen isocyanate — TDI for flexible foam or MDI for rigid. Tell us your formulation and we’ll supply a matched additive package.
