Purity is the headline, not the whole story
Most industrial sulphur is quoted at 99.5% purity, which is right for fertiliser, sulphuric acid, mining and general industry. Step up to 99.9%+ only when precision chemistry or regulation genuinely requires it — paying for purity you cannot use is just a higher price.
Form changes everything downstream
Identical purity can behave very differently by form. Lump suits acid manufacturing and further processing; granular flows cleanly through automated systems and dominates fertiliser; prilled and pelletised serve controlled and soil-amendment uses; dust absorbs fast but needs careful handling.
Parameters worth checking
A complete spec goes beyond purity: moisture, ash, acidity, carbon residue, particle size and colour. Moisture and acidity in particular are quiet sources of trouble, so confirm them before a bulk order.
